Introduction

Swindon Sure Start Partnership (SSSP) is a department within Children Services at Swindon Borough Council. SSSP leads on the Council's statutory obligations under the Childcare Act 2006.

Swindon Sure Start Partnership is funded by the Department for Children Schools and Families to administer locally determined schemes including:

• Childcare place development
• Advice and guidance about the Ofsted childcare registers
• Support for quality development in childminding and out of school provision
• Inclusion for groups and childminders supporting a disabled child
• Recruitment and training for childcare practitioners
• Information, advice and guidance for parents
• Early education funding
• Parenting support
• Children’s Centres
• Extended services in and around schools
